Zain Telecom announced the launch of the virtual training camp phase of the sixth version of its innovative program, Zain Great “Idea”, to accelerate and develop emerging technology companies, which witnessed in its first virtual session hosting the co-founder of “Tesla” for the development of electric cars, Mark Tarring, in a dialogue about secrets Success in the world of entrepreneurship.
The company stated in a statement that it has concluded the first phase of the program, which is the registration phase, and that it has received many requests to register in the program by local and regional talents, pointing to the acceptance of many entrepreneurs who have startup companies at the beginning of their journey or under establishment, especially those They operate in sectors related to technology, digital transformation and innovation.
“Zain” indicated that the training camp for the sixth “Zain Great Idea” program, this year, comes with a completely virtual version to comply with the health requirements imposed by the “Covid-19” pandemic.
She noted that she hosted in the first dialogue sessions of the camp, Tarning, which was interviewed by the Director of Sustainability, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Zain Kuwait, Haya Al-Maneh, and the founder and CEO of the technology accelerator «Brilliant Lab» Nada Al-Daihani.
The company added that the virtual dialogue session came under the title “Entrepreneur Lifestyle”, whereby Tarning shared with the attendees many essential information and important advice for any startup owner, about the most prominent challenges and obstacles that startups face, especially technology companies at the beginning of their journey and how to overcome them.
Tarning recalled the story of his founding of the “Tesla” company to develop electric cars with his partner Martin Eberhard, and how it became today one of the largest companies working in the field of technology and car manufacturing around the world, pointing out that they had funded the company until early 2004, at which time Elon Musk led the first investment round. Mark Tarning continued to serve the company as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Electrical Engineering until 2008. After leaving the company, he held advisory positions on the boards of several companies, including the university where he studied (UC Berkeley’s SkyDeck project), in addition to the company.
