Zain has announced that it has chosen Cisco to launch the standalone fifth generation technology (5G SA), through which it will provide great value for its services directed to the business sector.
The company stated in a press statement that the announcement of this cooperation came on the sidelines of Zain’s participation in the Mobile World Congress (GSMA MWC 2022) in Barcelona, in the presence of Zain Kuwait CEO Iman Al-Roudhan, CEO of Business and Solutions Hamad Al-Marzouq, and President Chief Technology Officer Nawaf Al-Gharabally, Vice President of Customer Experience for EMEA and Russia at Cisco Adele Trombetta, Vice President of Customer Experience for Service Providers in EMEA and Russia at Cisco Mario Sebastian Miguel, Executive Director of Service Providers in the Middle East and Africa In «Cisco» Mohamed Tantawy.

She stated that the fifth generation “5G” traffic of “Zain Kuwait” currently constitutes more than 40 percent of its total wireless network traffic, which puts it in the first place in the Arab Gulf countries in terms of service launch rate, and “Zain Kuwait” is considered one of the The most pioneering telecom companies in the Middle East and North Africa region, and it is at the forefront of companies driving innovation in the region as it is the first telecom operator to launch 5G services commercially in the Middle East.
She stressed that she is aware that the fifth generation standalone technology (5G SA) is the future of the fifth generation technology, as it allows it to reach its full capabilities by increasing the coverage and laying the foundation stone for applications that take advantage of its enormous speed and low response speed, and Zain leads the Kuwaiti telecom market in its development. She stated that the “5G SA” technology provided by Cisco enables the provision of many network as a service (NaaS) solutions that operate via the cloud based on the uses of business models, allowing Zain customers to obtain and control network capabilities without the need to create or Own or maintain their own networks and infrastructure, as the new “5G SA” from Cisco will provide Zain with the ability to take advantage of security features designed as an added value to be presented to the business market.
