The studio has revised its release schedule over the next two years and took the opportunity to announce the dates of Star Trek 4 and Dungeons and Dragons.
It is now a habit among the big American studios, in addition to the announcements concerning the new projects, the calendar of the releases to the cinema does not cease being modified. After Sony Pictures, it’s Paramount’s turn to review its programming, including the postponements of three highly anticipated blockbusters.
Across the Atlantic, Top Gun Maverick and Mission Impossible 7 , two films produced by Tom Cruise, are therefore postponed respectively from July 2 to November 19, 2021 and from November 19, 2021 to May 27, 2022. Note that Mission Impossible 8 has de facto been delayed from fall 2022 to July 7, 2023. The French branch of Paramount has not yet specified the new release dates for the French market, but it should be stuck to the nearest Wednesday on the American calendar .
The new part of Jackass, the zany exploits of the band of stuntmen led by Johnny Knoxville, has, meanwhile, been postponed in the United States from September 3 to October 22, 2021, the same for Dungeons and Dragons, film inspired by the world of role-playing games, with Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez, delayed from May 27, 2022 to March 3, 2023. The studio has however moved forward Snake eyes by Robert Schwentke from October 22 to July 23, 2021.
Finally, Paramount Pictures took advantage of these updates to announce the dates of four new projects, with first the biopic on the Bee Gees by Kenneth Branagh, scheduled for November 4, 2022. To follow Star Trek 4, directed by Noah Hawley on June 9, 2023, then the animated film by Ron Howard The shrinking of Treehorn November 10 of the same year. A week later, on November 17, a mysterious feature film starring Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski is set to finally hit the big screen.
