Headed by James Gunn, this “stand alone” episode of the DC franchise dedicated to supervillains is due in theaters on July 28.
Suicide Squad James Gunn version becomes clearer. After revealing the members of the DC villains team and releasing two trailers, Warner unveiled a third trailer for the film. The excerpt lingers a little longer on the character of Bloodsport, incarcerated after having fired a kryptonite bullet on Superman and summoned, against his will, to join the gang of Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie). This over-equipped brute embodied on screen by Idris Elba is one of the newcomers to the franchise, alongside Peacemaker (John Cena) and King Shark (voiced by Sylvester Stallone in original version).
Good news : The Suicide Squad will not be affiliated with its predecessor. A pleasure for the spectators, who will be able to follow the intrigue of this enticing new episode without necessarily having undergone the purge of the first. This time around, the Suicide Squad will be dispatched to the bizarre island of Corto Maltese and must defeat Starro, a giant alien starfish.
Director of Guardians of the Galaxy At Marvel, James Gunn seems to put his dynamic style to good use in new, impeccably filmed action scenes. The trailer also highlights the schoolboy aspect of the film, which contrasts with the usually more serious productions of the DC universe.
Announced for July 28 in French theaters, The Suicide Squad will be part of the big wave of summer blockbusters. Outraged Kaamelott – First Stream (scheduled for July 21) and OSS 117: Red Alert in Black Africa (August 4), the film will have a problem with Jungle Cruise (July 28), Disney Studios and the highly anticipated Free Guy with Ryan Reynolds (August 11). All this without counting on the Marvel Black widow which will be released at the start of a post-pandemic summer under the sign of catching up.
