The Ministry of Transport continues to implement maintenance and safety projects on the roads in the Eastern Province

Over the past period, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services in the Eastern Region has implemented a package of works that contributed to upgrading the Dammam-Jubail road, and the ministry continues its efforts on the road in accordance with the approved operational plan that ensures raising the level of safety and quality, by implementing a package of safety, maintenance and implementation projects on the road Which is one of the most important roads in the region.

The branch of the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services in the Eastern Province announced the start of repair work on the Dammam-Jubail road, starting from the Juaymah bridge towards Jubail, with a length of 20 km in both directions, on Monday 22 Shawwal 1443 AH corresponding to 23 May 2022 AD.

The repair and expansion works will be carried out by adding a fourth lane to the road in both directions, with the repair of the existing road in four stages, starting from Ju’aymah Bridge, within a number of traffic diversions, with a length of 5 km for each diversion, where a partial closure of one lane will be implemented and work on the other two lanes will be allowed.

The Ministry of Transport and Logistics is also implementing a number of implementation and maintenance projects on the road, during which the road will be repaired with a length of 114 km in both directions: a project to repair and expand the road to four lanes in each direction from the intersection of King Saud Road until after the Safwa Bridge towards Jubail with a length of 30 km, and from the bridge Safwa up to Al Nabiya Bridge with a length of 10 km towards Dammam, and work on the project began on 10/14/1443 AH corresponding to 05/15/2022 AD, and the radical maintenance project by repairing and expanding the main road towards Dhahran with a length of 20 km from the intersection of Al Nabiyah Bridge to the Dhahran Bridges complex, in addition to repairing The service roads are 20 km long in both directions, and the project works have been completed.

These efforts come from the ministry in an effort to improve the services provided to the people and residents of the eastern region, improve the quality of life and develop the roads affiliated to the ministry in the region, in order to achieve the ministry’s goals in the national strategy for transport and logistics, which aims to raise the kingdom to the sixth rank globally in the road quality index, and to maintain its leadership globally in the interconnection of road networks, while continuing to reduce the rate of deaths from accidents, and reduce the rate of carbon emissions.
