The Ministry of Industry discusses the geological advantages of the Kingdom in a workshop in Medina

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, in cooperation with Taibah University and the Saudi Geologists Cooperative, held today a workshop entitled “Geology and Mining Day”, with the participation of academics and specialists in this scientific field, as part of the work program of the “Future of Minerals Summit” that will be held in Riyadh from 11 January 13th, next year.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Geologists Cooperative, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Laboun, and the specialist in mining consultancy, Chris Hand, Director of Buck & Ben Ltd. participated in the presentation and management of this workshop.

The workshop touched on the most prominent geological features of the Kingdom, and what it contains of rocks, minerals, water, oil, gas and fossils, in addition to the details of the natural and touristic phenomena formed by mountains, caves, caves, waters, volcanoes and others, in addition to providing detailed information about minerals, mining and mineralization areas in the Kingdom.

On the sidelines of the workshop, a mining geological trip was organized to the Mahd Ad-Dahab mine, with the participation of a number of businessmen, those interested in the mining sector, and representatives of the media, during which they were briefed on the historical aspect of this mine and the great development it is currently witnessing in light of the renaissance witnessed by the mining sector in The Kingdom is among the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
