The launch of the early detection campaign for diabetes and obesity in Sharkia

Yesterday, the Director General of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development Branch, Abdul-Kareem Al-Muqbel, launched the campaign (early detection of diabetes and obesity), which was held by the Saudi Society for Diabetes and Endocrinology in the Eastern Province, in the Ministry’s branch, in the presence of the Assistant Director General for Therapeutic Services in Eastern Health, Abdul Karim Abdul Karim, Assistant Director General for the Development Sector at the Ministry of Human Resources in the Eastern Region, Ibtisam Al-Humayzi.

The campaign coincides with the World Diabetes Day, and the campaign, for which more than 15 activities were monitored throughout the month of November, in cooperation with more than 15 government and private agencies and bodies, aims to improve life within the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Programs 2020, and to conduct a survey of community members to uncover cases Diabetes, whether type 1 or type 2, awareness and education about the importance of fighting obesity as one of the causes of diabetes, focus on the importance of exercising, and follow-up of patients who were discovered to have diabetes and referred them to diabetologists and endocrinologists in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, and the establishment of many educational lectures for diabetics – Remotely.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Society for Diabetes and Endocrinology in the Eastern Region Abdulaziz Al-Turki said that the campaign embodies the spirit of cooperation between the third sector represented by public benefit associations, the government and private sector and community members, and deepening the spirit of giving to serve humanity, through early detection of diabetes, and the consolidation of the culture of early detection Obesity, sugar, blood pressure, and body mass. The campaign in Al-Rashid Mall, which lasts for three days, witnessed the participation of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University and Health Affairs in many pillars, including: the corner of examination registration, weight and height taking, obesity index measurement, blood pressure measurement, blood glucose measurement, health education and follow-up, dental and physical therapy, Diabetic foot, therapeutic nutrition, insulin, and the complications corner of diabetes neglect.
