The inauguration of the medical simulation center at King Faisal Specialist Hospital

The Executive General Supervisor of the General Organization of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Dr. Majed Al-Fayyad, inaugurated the Medical Simulation Center, which includes the latest tools and methods of education and training, and is managed by smart electronic systems. Al-Fayyad stressed the importance of establishing the Medical Simulation Center with its competence in equipment to achieve the strategic objectives of the General Organization of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Medical Training, in order to enhance the pivotal and leadership role that the hospital plays over the past four decades in qualifying and training medical personnel at the local and regional level. Employing the latest methods, techniques, and the best training curricula to keep pace with the latest developments in medical developments.

To that, the Executive Director of Academic Affairs and Training at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Dr. Saud Al-Shinaifi, explained that the Simulation Center aims to provide an advanced training environment for all levels of medical and health staff, which helps in raising education to an advanced level and allows practicing, learning, evaluating, testing and understanding systems and procedures in an environment Safe through scenarios derived from the reality of patient care practices, adding that the simulation center provides the future ability to expand the capacity of graduate training programs by adding virtual activities. Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Rashed, Deputy Executive Director for Academic Affairs and Training and Supervisor of Medical Education at the hospital, stated that the simulation center is a qualitative transfer in the frameworks of medical education and training in the hospital, which we expect will raise the level of trainees to high heights, God willing.

For his part, the director of the simulation center at the hospital, Dr. Abdullah Al-Riffa, stated that the center represents one of the most important educational and training tools provided by the academic affairs and training sector at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and the Research Center and includes four flexible rooms for simulation, in addition to two clinics and two rooms that simulate patient rooms, and four meeting rooms and information extraction. He added that the simulation center uses modern technologies such as 3D printing technology and virtual reality technology as a new and advanced method for training and education, which helps to increase the educational experience and training efficiency, in addition to rooms where smart high-tech systems are available such as the neurosurgery system, surgical endoscopes, and others.
