The Board of Directors of King Abdulaziz Public Library discussed in its fifth meeting for its fifth session for the year 1443 AH, at the library’s headquarters in Riyadh, a set of annual reports and development plans. Financial 2020/2021 and budget 2022.
The Council emphasized working on developing the library’s cultural strategic plan in line with the national and global cultural and cognitive transformations pursued by the Kingdom through Vision 2030, and through the scientific and civilized visions it aims at. The Council also emphasized the activation of the library’s cultural work in various fields.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Supervisor of the Library, Faisal bin Muammar, and in the presence of the members of the Library’s Board of Directors. The Council was briefed on the regulations for the library’s projects, the identity of the new library, reports that include the library’s achievements and the annual report on the most prominent activities and programs implemented and reports of cultural activities for the year 2020-2021.
The meeting also stressed the need to pay attention to establishing partnerships with cultural and scientific institutions, and expanding access to various social segments, given the great impact that culture has on society in its various cognitive, literary and intellectual elements, in addition to the new programs that the library is working on by investing in holdings. The library includes documents, manuscripts, books, Islamic coins, maps and rare photographs in holding exhibitions that benefit the reader and researcher in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and abroad, and displaying the most prominent scenes and developments in Saudi, Arab and Islamic history.
