Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman called on all dreamers, innovators, investors and opinion leaders to join Saudi Arabia to build knowledge economies, so that together we can achieve this ambition and build a pioneering model to unlock the value of data and artificial intelligence to build knowledge economies and advance our present and future generations. His Highness said during the launch of the World Summit on Artificial Intelligence yesterday: “We seek to become a major meeting place for the world in embracing artificial intelligence and harnessing its potential for the good of all humanity, and we are also looking, with our partners, to accelerate the adoption of the capabilities of artificial intelligence to achieve development, the year 2020 was an exceptional year for the world to test the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence at a time when we are witnessing the formation of a new global situation that redefines our ways of life, our work and our learning, and this invites us all to think and work to the maximum of our capabilities in order to improve our societies and economies.

His Highness referred to the emphasis at the Twentieth Summit last year on the importance of artificial intelligence, which took its pivotal position in drawing our present and our future, and pointed out that the Kingdom took the initiative to address challenges and reduce the gap in utilizing the potential of artificial intelligence, expressing his aspiration to announce a number of important initiatives with Our global partners to accelerate the adoption of the potential of artificial intelligence to achieve sustainable development and to enhance the use of global expertise in this field.

In the conclusion of his speech, the Crown Prince called on everyone to work in a spirit of cooperation to chart the future of artificial intelligence in a way that serves all societies, provides participation over competition, and focuses on ways of reliable and responsible use of artificial intelligence and its applications in the service of humanity.

For his part, Minister of Commerce Majid Al-Qasabi affirmed that the World Summit on Artificial Intelligence seeks to enhance local and regional commercial movement through innovative technologies based on data and artificial intelligence in accordance with the goals of Vision 2030. Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef said that the Kingdom’s embrace of the work of the World Summit on Artificial Intelligence, Demonstrates the importance of the Kingdom’s adoption of artificial intelligence, which is the basis for achieving the Kingdom’s 2030 vision. In his conversation with Al Arabiya on the sidelines of the summit’s work, he stressed that all parties tasked with achieving the vision must use all available tools, indicating that artificial intelligence will contribute to achieving the vision.

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawah, confirmed that there is an opportunity to use artificial intelligence in health systems. “Al-Sawhah” said during his speech that “NEOM” will be one of the most important destinations for using clean energy.

For his part, the President of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, said: We will have 300 startups in the field of artificial intelligence, and we will bring 20 billion dollars direct investments in the same field in addition to attracting local investment, stressing that artificial intelligence can accelerate sustainable development. He added: The Kingdom aspires to be among the first 15 countries in the field of artificial intelligence in 2030.
