After eight films featuring the boxer, Sylvester Stallone is still not satisfied. The 74-year-old actor confides in writing the screenplay for a prequel dedicated to Rocky’s youth.
Forty-five years after the first Rocky, Sylvester Stallone does not budge. The American actor, who confided in 2019 that he wanted to make a ninth film of the saga, announced on Instagram on Tuesday that he had set to work on a prequel relating the young years of the boxer.
“I started my day by writing a treatment [version plus dense et améliorée d’un synopsis déjà validé, ndlr] for a prequel to Rocky for streaming. Ideally, several seasons of ten episodes to really get to the essence of the characters in their youth ”, he was enthusiastic on the social network, accompanying his message with photos of his work.
“Imagine a time machine that will transport you to the origins of Rocky. A cinematographic world with characters loved by the public for decades », he added, feasting Rocky Balboa admirers. Allusions, which it is difficult to understand, reveal in the background the themes that the series will address, such as “Landing”, “Sexual revolution” or “Cold War”.
Whether this project comes to an end or not, it seems that we will not escape the hysteria surrounding the phenomenon. A third part of Creed, spin-off of the saga, is already scheduled for 2022, with Michael B. Jordan at the helm, who resumes his role of Adonis Creed alongside the old actor. Stallone also let know that a new cut of Rocky IV will be released on the occasion of the film’s thirty-five years.
