Red Notice, Don’t Look Up … Netflix presents its fall blockbusters

During its event for fans, the platform lifted the veil in particular on its satire on the plight of two scientists whom no one believes. The project brings together Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio and Timothée Chalamet.

During its event organized for fans, cleverly nicknamed “tudum” in the image of its sound identity, Netflix has multiplied the announcements concerning its flagship series: Stranger Things, The Bridgertons Chronicle, The Crown. Despite this deluge, there was still some room for films.

Rather than focusing on the feature films presented at the Mostra and considered major contenders of the Oscar season like The Power of the Dog by Jane Campion or The Lost Daughter by Maggie Gyllenhaal, the platform bet on its big productions and unveiled the trailer for‘Army Of Thieves , the film by Matthias Schweighöfer which serves as a prologue to Zack Snyder’s zombie adventures Army Of The Dead. Arrival on our screens on October 29.

Netflix has also confirmed the start of a sequel to the muscular adventures of mercenary mercenary Chris Hemsworth without mercy (and quite bland) in Tyler rake .

A sequence of the comedy-thriller has also been uploaded Red Notice by Rawson Marshall Thurber in which Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock seen in Jungle Cruise) plays an FBI agent involved in the robbery of two rival criminals Sarah Black (Gal Gadot, Wonder woman) and Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds, Free Guy). Released on November 12.

But the prize for the most glamorous project goes to Don’t Look Up. Adam McKay’s satire traces the ordeal of two astronomers that none of their peers, relatives, media or supervisory authorities believe when they announce that a gigantic asteroid is heading straight for earth bringing the destruction of our planet. In the shoes of the discredited and terribly jargon scientist slips Leonardo DiCaprio (Once Upon A Time … in Hollywood). Her assistant has the features of Jennifer Lawrence (Hunger Games).

A Meryl Streep in Donald Trump’s shadow

At the White House governs Meryl Streep, president who does not really believe the words of these two alarmist experts. Any resemblance to Donald Trump’s skepticism of scientific facts cannot be accidental. And as this very repeated excerpt shows, his cabinet is hardly better.

Director of The Big Short: the heist of the century, Adam McKay says he was first inspired by all those who challenge the reality of global warming before realizing with the pandemic that his feature film “told of our growing impossibility to communicate, listen to us and agree to each other”.

In addition to Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio, Don’t Look Up, which will be released on December 24, has recruited in supporting roles Tyler Perry, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande and Cate Blanchett. A poster, one could not be more cosmic.
