The International Institute for Iranian Studies (Rasanah) won advanced ranks in the global rankings of think tanks for the year 2020/2021, as it maintained its leadership in Saudi Arabia, while it advanced to the 25th position at the level of specialized regional studies centers.
It ranked 8 in the Middle East and North Africa, 31 among the best think tanks at the level of foreign policy and international affairs, 52 among the best think tanks in the world (outside and within the United States) and first in the Arab world, and 53 among think tanks in the world (outside the states) United) and the first Arab.
This came in the classification issued by the University of Pennsylvania in the United States of America worldwide, and included more than 11,175 institutions of thought and opinion institutions and civil society organizations. The University of Pennsylvania report classifies the study centers in order of importance at the global level, and at the level of geographical regions and thematic fields of work and production at the global level, according to a set of indicators, including human and intellectual resources management and organization, intellectual and scientific production, and the degree of influence in the decision-making process and policy direction. It is worth noting that 13 Saudi think tanks were included in that classification.
