Even Oscar-winning actresses keep their childhood dreams alive. Already twice Lady Macbeth in the theater (including one in high school), Frances McDormand ardently wished to embody again on the boards the perfidious gray eminence of Shakespeare. The heroine of nomadland has long pressed her husband, Joel Coen, to direct it. After years of hesitation, the director of Fargo preferred the cinema and recruited Denzel Washinton to accompany his wife and play the regicide general. Designed for Apple TV+, macbeth, also marks his first feature film without his brother Ethan.
