“Ooredoo Telecom” has officially approved the “My Identity” application in all its official sales channels, whether the branches spread in all regions of Kuwait, the online store (https://shop.ooredoo.com.kw), or the “MyOoredoo” application. », To be the first telecommunications company to adopt the application digitally and on all its sales channels.

This follows the signing of an agreement between “Ooredoo” and the Public Authority for Civil Information, in the presence of leaders from both parties headed by the CEO of the company Abdulaziz Yaqoub Al-Babtain and the General Director of the Authority, Musaed Al-Asousi.

During the signing ceremony, representatives of “Ooredoo” were present, head of operations sector Fadi Kawar, Senior Director of Corporate Communication Sector Majbel Al-Ayoub, Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs Sector Basil Ramadan, Senior Specialist in Regulatory Affairs Abdulaziz Al-Mufarrej, and Senior Director of Public Relations and Internal Communications Fatima Dashti. And the director of public relations and internal communications, Nazem Al-Ghabra.

Digital transformation

Al-Babtain stressed that the adoption of the digital identity on all the company’s official sales channels comes as a result of the tireless efforts of the company and the authority and in line with the objectives of digital transformation and in order to achieve constructive cooperation with government agencies, in support of the development plan and the realization of Kuwait’s vision by 2035.

Al-Babtain expressed his pride in adopting the “My Identity” application and signing the agreement with “Civil Information,” thanking the staff from both parties who have worked hard to achieve this achievement during the past months.

He added that after linking “Ooredoo” systems with the authority’s systems, customers who are citizens and residents of the “My Identity” application can perform any of the official transactions that require proof of identity, whether through the online store or the application without the need to personally come to the company’s headquarters. , As the approved digital ID will be approved, and it will also include other digital services such as authentication, electronic signature, and others.

A prospective vision

Al-Babtain said, “We in (Ooredoo Kuwait) had a proactive vision for digital transformation, and we were keen to strengthen our systems with a tremendous technological infrastructure that we have achieved and are proud of, especially after what the world witnessed and are still experiencing exceptional circumstances.”

He continued, “(Ooredoo Kuwait) has become able to meet the needs of customers in various circumstances, and has succeeded in providing distinguished digital services by which it confirmed its superiority and leadership in the telecommunications sector and strengthened its competitive position in the local market.”

Digital identity

For his part, Al-Asousi said that such cooperation with “Ooredoo” and the adoption of the “My Identity” application concerned with the digital identity confirms the active partnership with the private sector in all its sectors, especially telecommunications, at a time when communications, information, the Internet and even smart phone applications are playing a fundamental role. And whatsoever in the life of the individual and society, and that would facilitate transactions of all kinds and save time and effort.

He added, “This agreement will not be the first in this regard, but rather we seek more partnerships with the telecommunications sector as an integral part of our efforts to achieve the vision of (New Kuwait 2035) and to enhance the process of digital transformation in the country.”

“My Identity” is a smart application that carries a digital civil card called the digital ID in addition to the digital signature. It contains user information, whether citizen or resident, and documented by “civil information” that prevents all fraud and forgery methods. Official client.
