Ooredoo Telecommunications Company allows the ability to purchase a smart electronic chip (eSIM) online without personal attendance at its branches, through the “My Identity” and “My Ooredoo” applications, starting today, to be the first telecom company in Kuwait and the region to grant such a feature.
Ooredoo customers can now complete a full purchase, subscribe to a new pre-paid or post-paid electronic chip, or exchange a regular SIM card for an eSIM through the application.
This step came as a continuation of the success achieved by “Ooredoo”, after its cooperation with the Public Authority for Civil Information in early 2021 and its approval to officially implement “My Identity” on all the company’s official sales channels, whether they are branches located in all regions of Kuwait, the online store or Through the “MyOoredoo” application.
The availability of digital solutions and services has become a necessity today in order to improve the level of service and customer experience and enhance productivity, as in the wake of the “Covid-19” pandemic, speed, flexibility and digitization were among the main factors for community service and business continuity.
Realizing this fact and implementing the vision of “digitalization for excellence” was not a difficult matter for the company, which moved at a rapid pace in the world of digitization day after day and made tangible progress that enhanced the customer experience.
The eSIM is an electronic version of the traditional SIM, and it gives the customer the opportunity to store several SIM cards in the smart mobile phone, and it is activated by scanning the QR code from the phone’s camera, which is built into the phone and cannot be removed, and it works with devices only supported.
Customers can activate the “eSIM” in easy steps, by visiting the “Ooredoo” online store, choosing the phone number, the package and the duration of the contract, then entering the civil number and documenting it through the “My ID” application to verify the validity of the card and data, choosing the payment method and using the camera to copy the QR code and follow On-screen instructions.
