Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said that the year 2020 was exceptional to test the potential of artificial intelligence at a time when we are witnessing the formation of a new global situation that redefines our ways of life, our work and our learning, which calls for all of us to think and work to the maximum of our capabilities in order to improve our societies and economies.
“In Saudi Arabia, we translate this by launching the National Data Strategy for Artificial Intelligence with a clear ambition for the Kingdom to become a model for artificial intelligence in the world,” he added during the World Summit on Artificial Intelligence, under the slogan “Artificial Intelligence for the Good of Humanity,” which concludes today in Riyadh.
In the conclusion of his speech, bin Salman called on dreamers, innovators, investors and opinion leaders all to join the Kingdom, to together realize this ambition and build a pioneering model to unlock the value of data and artificial intelligence to build knowledge economies and advance our present and future generations.
More than 200 experts and decision-makers will participate in the global summit organized by the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SADAA), which includes dialogues of global importance, whether in terms of recovering from the pandemic or trends that shape the field of artificial intelligence, during which some of the strategic considerations necessary to establish an effective system will be discussed. And influential for artificial intelligence and encouraging cooperation between leaders in this field and exploring appropriate national strategic options.
The President of the Saudi Authority for Artificial Intelligence, Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, said that artificial intelligence can accelerate sustainable development, adding that by 2030 we will be ranked among the first 15 countries in this field, indicating that in 2030 Saudi Arabia will be among the first 15 pioneering countries with artificial intelligence.
