The investment in Lucid comes as part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to build an environmentally friendly economy and reduce its dependence on oil. “They are not just a financial partner, but a strategic ally,” Peter Rawlinson, director of technology at Lucid said about the Saudi fund. 1,000 Air reservations have been ordered, and the company is beginning to expand its plant in Arizona, with plans to add 2.85 million square feet of space to increase manufacturing capacity.
