He adds: Psychological abuse can be practiced by any person within the family, whether mentally sound or not, on the teenager and the child, as we find it clear and evident in families with large numbers and limited income.

Al-Qahtani points out that psychological abuse has signs and symptoms that can be investigated and traced to their source, such as a change in the teenager’s behavior, his transformation into isolation and introversion, or an increase in the rate of violence and physical harm to himself or others, and that the decrease in the academic level and school performance is one of the strongest indications of a defect in the life of a teenager, or The emergence of symptoms of depression and sadness, can be the result of psychological harm towards the teenager, and also the impulse of some adolescents to commit impulsive actions, such as running away from home and using psychotropic substances, which may be the result of harming them.

Methods of Treatment

Psychological abuse can be treated by reformulating the concepts in the adolescent and removing all cognitive distortions in him, through the work of treatment sessions, whether individually or even family, in an intensive and clear manner, up to 6, 8 or 12 sessions, so that he can identify the places of weakness that he was exposed to abuse .
