Launching the first professional association for intangible heritage

The approval of the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for the Development of the Non-Profit Sector, Engineer Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, to establish the first professional association for intangible heritage in the Kingdom, whose board of directors is headed by Dr. And Dr. Abdullah Al-Moneef as financial supervisor, Majed Al-Essa, Ibtisam Al-Wahaibi, Ibrahim Tala’ Al-Alma’i, and Rashid Al-Qannas.

The new association comes as one of the professional associations established under the umbrella of the Ministry of Culture’s strategy for the non-profit sector recently adopted by His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, which aims to build a diverse system of non-profit organizations in various cultural sectors in the regions of the Kingdom, including training Sixteen professional associations in thirteen cultural sectors.

The list of founders of the Intangible Heritage Society, in addition to the members of the board of directors, included Khaled Al-Omar, Areej Al-Ghamdi, Dr. Awatef Salameh, Rahaf Qassas, Sami Al-Flayh, Dr. Bader Al-Wahaibi, and Khaled Al-Khalidi.

The Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors, Dr. Othman Al-Sinni, stressed that the new society seeks to serve and support professional practitioners in the fields of intangible heritage, and contribute to the development of the environment in which they are active, expressing his thanks to His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture, for his support in launching The strategy of the Ministry of Culture for the non-profit sector, which is the umbrella that supports professional associations related to cultural specializations, and the main catalyst for the establishment of the Intangible Heritage Association and other cultural professional associations.
