Launching the “Arbitration Fellowship” program to support the business sector


The Makkah Al-Mukarramah Center for Commercial Arbitration of the Chamber of Commerce in Makkah Al-Mukarramah launched the “Arbitration Fellowship” program in cooperation with the Chamber’s Training Center with the aim of supporting the business sector and alleviating the burdens on the public judiciary. The program begins on Tuesday, May 17 and continues until June 15, from 5:00 to 10:00 pm at the Chamber’s headquarters. It is presented by a group of experts in the field of arbitration.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Center for Commercial Arbitration, Dr. Omar Al-Khouli, explained that the training program consists of five phases, and is scheduled to be organized twice annually, targeting those wishing to enter the world of arbitration, including lawyers, consultants, experts, engineers, judges, final-stage students in Sharia and law faculties and others.

He added: The levels of the program are represented in the legal nature of arbitration, the arbitration agreement, its types, its formulation, the procedures of the arbitration case, the management of its sessions, the methodology for issuing the arbitral award, the request for annulment of the judgment, and implementation, in addition to practical models and applications on arbitration cases, stressing that the Commercial Arbitration Center serves The business sector and enhances the role of the justice sector by providing distinguished quality services. For his part, the Secretary-General of the Makkah Chamber of Commerce, Engineer Esmat Abdul Karim Maatouk, affirmed that the Makkah Center for Commercial Arbitration constitutes a nucleus of justice that stimulates national and foreign capital, and an essential pillar in supporting the business sector and alleviating the burdens of the public judiciary, especially the commercial one. The center works to strengthen the institutional arbitration and mediation industry related to the financial sectors, as well as reconciliation, in order to achieve the vision of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Chamber in creating a stimulating environment for investment and the development of various business sectors, including all alternatives to settling disputes, and creating more opportunities and stimulus for growth, stressing that the The most important features of institutional arbitration are the clarity and flexibility of procedures and the speed of issuing and implementing judgments.
