Complementing the measures taken by the state in recent years to improve health outcomes for women, the Ministry of Health issued health rights for women, and included that all their rights are subject to legal rulings and fatwas from the Fatwa and Laws Commission, and to take all appropriate measures to eliminate discrimination against them in the field of health care.
The Ministry of Health stipulated that women must review the report of the pre-marital examination and its results, and conduct routine clinical, laboratory and radiological examinations to ensure their ability to withstand pregnancy stress and provide the necessary health advice, procedures and recommendations to be followed in the event of associated diseases.
Pregnancy and childbearing
Among the conditions for assisting in childbearing in cases of delayed pregnancy, according to Sharia and law, assisting the physical and moral health facility, according to the regulations governing this, and obtaining clinical examinations that are complementary to the prevention of cancer and fragility diseases, especially with the presence of risk factors.
Women have the right to choose the details of their natural birth such as the birth plan, the instinctive delivery and be informed of the full range of options available on a full basis, and revised information about the benefits and risks of each method. The medical team must have specialization and skill in childbirth, in addition to the availability of a qualified staff specialized in the complications that may arise, and to provide a safe environment that ensures delivery in a decent and respectful manner at all times, preserves the dignity of the woman and guarantees her the right to choose a midwife or doctor who provides maternity care “According to the facility’s available capabilities.”
And preserving privacy and stressing the covering of the awrah, “giving birth in a private room or a designated space that she conceals from the rest of the patients, or anyone who is not part of the medical team supervising it.”
It stipulated that a woman is entitled to maternity care appropriate to her cultural and religious background, and to obtain information in a language of communication that she understands. And the possibility for a member of her family to accompany her in all aspects of providing her with maternity care “according to the applicable laws and regulations and the places they are allowed to be in.” And access to continuous social, emotional and physical support, during labor and childbirth, from caregivers, who have been trained in labor and childbirth. And childbirth without medical interventions, and the provision of all methods and methods of relieving the pain of natural labor, according to the appropriate methods, in accordance with the interest of medical necessity, which is required by freedom of movement, during labor, unless her health condition or the condition of her fetus is required.
A woman has the right to agree to the entry or exit of her relatives, minors or incompetent patients, to and from the health facility
– The 18-year-old is considered self-authorized and can sign her admission and discharge declarations, and sign medical permission for any medical procedure or intervention.
– Those who are physically incapable of signing admissions, discharge and medical permission have the right to authorize whomever you wish to sign.
– The age of 18 years and over alone has the right to accept or refuse to sign a medical permission for surgery.
