DISAPPEARANCE – The young actor had won the César for best actor, in 2017, for Just the end of the world and portrayed Yves Saint Laurent in Bertrand Bonello’s film. He was 37 years old.
A rotten scenario. Gaspard Ulliel died at the age of 37, Wednesday January 19, victim of a skiing accident in La Rosière, in the Alps. He would have collided with another skier at the crossroads of two blue runs. This death isn’t some silly metaphor (live fast, die young), it’s just the brutal, silly and sad disappearance of an actor who is both secretive and popular. Ulliel was not a comet of French cinema. He had been in the landscape for a long time since he had started as a child. He was young and talented. A nice face, with a small gash on the left cheek, memory of the claws of a doberman he rides at 6 years old, but not at all beautiful and stupid at the same time. We had met him once on the occasion of Just the end of the world, by Xavier Dolan. He had been found calm, intelligent, gentle.
