Filming two Saudi films and one from Hollywood in Al-Ula

The Royal Commission for Al-Ula announced the launch of the “Al-Ula Film” department, which will support and facilitate filming in the governorate, as part of its strategy to promote Al-Ula as a tourist destination and the largest living museum in the world. Many international producers have expressed their interest in discovering Al-Ula as a destination for filming their films. Filming a movie produced by “Hollywood” will be announced soon, in addition to filming two Saudi films, “Between Al Rimal” and “Noura”, directed and produced by Saudi Arabia.

The department gives the opportunity to discover picturesque filming sites for filmmakers amid the nature of Al-Ula and its historical monuments, as well as providing support to complete the required approvals, facilitate the necessary procedures and permits, and provide the necessary logistical support. The province of Al-Ula is home to civilizations and human and natural history dating back more than 200 thousand years, which makes it a unique destination for all producers and filmmakers, and the cultural heritage it represents with historical and spatial attraction, and the unique natural and cultural environment it possesses.

The new administration will also focus on supporting and stimulating local productions, by working with several government agencies interested in filming and producing films in Al-Ula, as this is part of the authority’s endeavor to contribute to the realization of the Saudi Vision 2030, by supporting national talents in the film industry, and contributing to Improving its environment and raising its standards towards more advanced levels.

It is noteworthy that the development of Al-Ula as a destination for filming, contributes to achieving the comprehensive strategic objectives of the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate in diversifying the economy, which will positively affect the definition of Al-Ula as a global tourist and cultural destination, and will have an economic impact on the people and residents of AlUla in the services sector.
