Electronic chips for child and mother identification

Al-Watan learned that the King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, affiliated to the Health Affairs of the Ministry of National Guard, intends to use modern technology to help identify newborns and mothers, by installing electronic chips for the mother and child linked to an identification device using radio waves, and can be used in Reducing the problems of birth control.

This technology belongs to a group of technologies that fall within the scope of automatic identification and data capture (AIDC), and its role is to automatically recognize objects, collect data related to them, and enter this data directly into computer systems with the least possible human intervention (or without it).

Silicone slide

RFID technology works automatically by relying on a device called “RFID Tag”, which is a small object that can be inserted by products, animals or humans, containing a chip made of silicon, inside which there are resonance circuits, and an antenna, to receive and transmit Data and queries by radio waves. It also contains a chip capable of storing 2000 bytes of data or less.

Transfer of information

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) systems consist of three components: “RFID tag” or smart label, “RFID reader”, and an antenna used to transmit data to the RFID reader, also called “investigator”. The reader converts the radio waves into more usable data, then the collected information is transmitted through the communication interface to the host computer system, where the data can be stored in a database and analyzed at a later time.
