Deputy Minister of Communications inaugurates the “National Center for Future Network Technologies”


The Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Haitham Al-Ohali, and the President of King Saud University, Dr. Badran Al-Omar, inaugurated today the “National Center for Future Network Technologies”, which is the result of a strategic partnership that brings together King Saud University represented by the College of Computer and Information Sciences, and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in the presence of the President Eric Yang, CEO of Huawei Tech Investment Saudi Arabia.

The inauguration of the center, in cooperation with Huawei Tech Investment Saudi Arabia Co., Ltd., comes in implementation of a previous agreement that it brings together with the ministry to cooperate in the areas of developing 5G applications and developing local talent, in addition to enhancing the Kingdom’s position as a leading and most innovative country in the region, aiming also to define a framework To cooperate between them to serve common interests and goals.

The center will work to enable fifth generation technologies and develop their applications, enhance awareness of fifth generation technologies, develop national talent in fifth generation technologies, cooperate in fifth generation cybersecurity, develop digital trust, enhance digital infrastructure, develop emerging technologies, and develop smart cities. Developing digital capabilities and skills and digital innovation.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in recent years, has held partnerships with many relevant authorities and sectors, in a way that ensures the acceleration of innovation in the communications and information technology sector, the promotion of technical research and digital education, and the sponsorship of the digital innovation and entrepreneurship systems in order to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
