It is a massacre of workers that has remained hidden for a long time and never recounted in the history books. The 1er and June 2, 1962, in an industrial city in southern Russia, dozens of railway factory workers demonstrating outside the headquarters of the local Communist Party were strafed by the army and KGB snipers sent from Moscow. Their crime? Having had the audacity to go on strike and demand better wages when the prices of basic goods (including books…) kept increasing. Result: a hundred victims including nearly 30 dead, hastily and clandestinely buried outside the city.
