Death of Marthe Mercadier, star of the boulevard

The actress Marthe Mercadier died this Wednesday, September 15 at the age of 92. Born in 1928, she made her debut as a child alongside Josephine Baker. Like her, she will join the Resistance. It was above all the boulevard theater that was her kingdom, but she also frequented television sets, especially in the delicious series The Holy Darlings between 1965 and 1970. Marthe Mercadier had been fighting Alzheimer’s disease for nearly ten years.

Christophe Leribault new boss of the Musée d’Orsay

The director of the Petit Palais has been appointed to the presidency of the Musée d’Orsay and the Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris. Christophe Leribault will take over from Laurence des Cars, appointed head of the Louvre at the beginning of September, from October 5. This 57-year-old doctor of art history was director of the Musée Delacroix and deputy director of the graphic arts department at the Louvre. Since 2012, he has been at the head of the Petit Palais, an establishment which, under his leadership, has distinguished itself by a policy of exhibitions that are both original and remarkably “staged”.
