“Valéry Giscard d’Estaing” added to the names of the Musée d’Orsay and Musée de l’Orangerie
In agreement with the Presidency of the Republic, the Ministry of Culture announced on Monday March 29 that the name of the former president would be added to the names of the Musée d’Orsay and the Musée de l’Orangerie, recalling that the latter had “Worked with determination and commitment for the birth of the museum”. A resolution to this effect, from the UDI group, was adopted on Thursday, March 19, with 91 votes for and one abstention (LFI). Orsay station was saved under the presidency of Georges Pompidou. The museum was inaugurated in 1986 by François Mitterrand.
