The CSK Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University has re-opened admissions to its various academic programs and has also fixed dates to conduct entrance tests.

Vice-Chancellor Prof HK Chaudahry said the state government had approved the university’s proposal to increase 10 per cent of the total seats in various programs. These would be kept reserved specifically for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) candidates, without disturbing the present intake capacity.

The last date for receipt of online and offline application forms is October 26 for all degree programs for all categories, including EWS. For applicants from the tribal area, the last date for receipt of offline applications for merit-based admissions is November 2. The candidates who have already applied for various programs for 2020-21 need not apply again. But the candidates who had applied for the entrance test-based admissions could make the necessary corrections, modifications, etc by the last date. The candidates and students had been advised to visit the university website for further details, like eligibility, qualifications, procedure to apply for the programs, number of seats, mode of admission, important dates, etc.

The university has also fixed Entrance Test-2020 dates. The examination for BV Sc, AH and B Sc (hons) agriculture would be held on November 8 and that for M Sc agriculture and MV Sc programs would be held on November 11. The entrance tests, with all pandemic-related precautions, would be conducted on the scheduled dates from 10 am to 1 pm.

Professor Chaudhary said due to the prolonged lockdown and restrictions thereafter, he had been receiving requests through emails, phones and several parents had also met him in person, informing that many students could not apply earlier due to net connectivity problems in their villages. The reopened admission process was a golden opportunity for those who could not apply, he said.
