For his part, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef stressed that the Kingdom seeks to attract investments worth $170 billion in the mining sector by 2030, taking advantage of the increasing global demand and the great demand for investment in the mining sector since the launch of the new mining investment system, adding: Within a year, the volume of licenses that have existed since the start of mining, and added in a press statement on the sidelines of the International Mining Conference held in Riyadh under the title “The Future of Minerals”, that the wealth in the mining sector is great, and pointed out that minerals are gaining increasing importance for the development of the energy sector, manufacturing industries, and industries Among them are cars, and Al-Khorayef explained that the investment will come from foreign and local companies, including the state mining company (Maaden), and indicated that the investments would raise the sector’s contribution to the Kingdom’s GDP to $64 billion annually during this decade, and this is four times The current contribution, which amounts to 17 billion dollars, and Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Khaled Al-Mudaifer also said on the sidelines of the conference: The ministry is working on more than 38 initiatives to achieve the goals Vision and strengthening the mining sector to find job opportunities.

For his part, Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih said that the Kingdom issued 75 new exploration licenses after the launch of the new mining investment system since January 2021, while Engineer Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, stressed the importance of including the environment and its protection in all development activities; To achieve sustainable development in its economic, social and environmental dimensions, the mining sector is considered one of the pillars of development. Eng. Al-Fadhli explained that the national environment strategy aimed to strengthen the institutional framework of the environmental protection system and modernize environmental systems.
