The labor market was affected during the second and third quarter of last year by the effects of the Corona pandemic. According to the same survey, the unemployment rate for Saudis decreased to 14.9%, compared to 15.4% at the end of the second quarter 2020, and the Statistics Authority said that the effects of the Corona pandemic continue to affect the labor market and the Saudi economy, and the Minister of Human Resources had issued a ministerial decision requiring participatory electronic platforms to limit Direct dealing with the Saudi worker only and not dealing with a non-Saudi worker except through the operating establishments. The Ministry of Human Resources said in a statement that this decision aims to reduce illegal employment, create a suitable and feasible work environment for Saudis in the field of participatory work in various activities, and stimulate the investment of entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises to cover the needs in a systematic manner.
